At Cornerstone, we follow the leadership structure outlined by the Bible which describes the use of Elders and Deacons. This section is meant to introduce the members of the leadership at Cornerstone Christian Church.

Minister

Jay Thompson
|
Jay Thompson, with his wife Kelley and his two daughters Elisa and Meranda, first came to Cornerstone Christian Church in September 2001 as our new minister after serving as a minister in Kansas. Since then, Cornerstone has been very blessed by the Thompson family, and Jay opted to take on the duties of Elder as well.

Elders
|
Larry McKemey
|
Larry and his wife Sarah have been with the church since 1979. They came with three children that are now grown and two have moved away, while one is still here and married and still attending Cornerstone. Sarah works at the Montgomery Zoo as PR/Marketing Director and serves as a teacher in the church.

Gary Arnold
|
Gary Arnold and his wife Lois moved here from Chandler, AZ where he served as an elder at the Chandler Christian Church. He was with the church when they averaged about 120 in attendance each Sunday and was a part in leading the church through incredible growth. Today they average around 3,000 in attendance per weekend.
Gary works for McKesson Information Solutions and Lois is an author, quilter, and teacher.
Since coming to Cornerstone, Gary and Lois have become involved in every area of church life and are excellent workers for the Kingdom.

Jack Jackson
|
Jack and wife Linda moved here from North Carolina. Jack is retired military and they have been involved in church work in various independent Christian churches. Jack has served as an Elder in previous congregations and he brings a wealth of experience to the church. Jack also heads up our Missions outreach as well.
Jack teaches part time at Troy University-Montgomery.
Linda is a homemaker and she is an excellent worker in the church as well having taught and been involved in many ministries.

Deacons
|
Ken Crook
|
Ken Crook, along with his wife Carolyn, joined Cornerstone in April 2002, and has shown a great deal of knowledge of the scriptures. His desire to aid the education programs at Cornerstone led him to the position of Deacon over Education where he helps the many teachers of the church with supplies, books, and organized programs.

Charles Crosby
|
Charles Crosby and his wife Deborah have been a member of Cornerstone since 1983, and has seen the church grow in many ways over the past two decades. He has been in charge of building and grounds for years with organized Work Days, and assumed the position of Deacon over Building and Grounds in 2002.

Bob Oliver
|
Bob and his wife Edwina have been with the congregation since about 2003. Bob is retired military and mostly fishes now. He has taken on the job of Deacon of Care Contact. This ministry is designed to be available when anyone in the church is in need of any kind of help. They pay particular attention to the elderly and those that may have an illness or physical limitations. Bob and his team are there when needs arise so the church can respond.
Edwina works at Wal-Mart in Prattville.
Both of them have been involved in independent Christian churches all through Bob’s military career.
